The Role
The Team Leader will be responsible for planning, developing, and building test set-ups, evaluating results, and investigating mechanical/electrical operational difficulties on products and/or components while recommending corrective actions. Utilizing GMS Tools, the Team Leader will lead day-to-day operations in a specified area, providing guidance to team members on business priorities and team performance. This individual will report to the Group Leader of the assigned area and spend approximately two-thirds of their time roving the floor to support operators and identify/resolve issues preventing successful test execution.
What You'll Do
- Create an atmosphere where processes are improved rather than blaming operators.
- Spend two-thirds of time on the floor supporting operators and identifying issues preventing or slowing testing.
- Identify reasons for time wasted between tests during production meetings.
- Perform daily follow-up activities to ensure STD work, changes, and initiatives are implemented.
- Act as teachers and mentors to team members.
- Guide and align shift scheduling activities to operations production philosophy and plan.
- Communicate swiftly with ISG counterparts to reduce downtime.
- Execute leadership behaviors in addition to technical skills and results.
- Promote communication between shifts and avoid silo culture.
- Champion safety for themselves and others in all aspects of the work.
- Attend and support various meetings as required.
- Interface with engineers on updates to new testing procedures, equipment, and methods.
- Work closely with Lab Engineering, Instrumentation, and Equipment teams to provide information and guidance relative to test cell status and performance.
- Apply problem-solving techniques to drive continuous improvement.
Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to train others effectively.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Experience with test automation software (e.g. IGEM, ITEST, INCA).
- Proficiency in Microsoft applications.
What Will Give You A Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)
- 2+ years of experience with IGEM software.
- Previous Team Lead experience in an Emissions Lab.
- Associate degree (2-year degree).
- 1+ years of hands-on experience in the implementation of Lean Tools (GMS).
