The Role We are seeking a skilled and innovative Systems Engineer to lead the development and integration of rear brake-by-wire technologies. This role will focus on system-level design, requirements management, and cross-functional collaboration to deliver safe, high-performance braking solutions for future vehicle architectures. What You’ll Do (Responsibilities) Lead the design and development of rear brake-by-wire systems, ensuring alignment with vehicle-level performance, regulatory, and safety requirements. Lead and support technical Brake By-Wire focused System Integrity Team whose main goal is to develop requirements, define use cases and test cases, gain alignment of the prioritization , roll-out, and minimal viable product (MVP) definition for brake related systems aligned to program milestones Define and manage system requirements, interfaces, and functional specifications. Supports scope definition and directs stakeholders to enable diagnostic performance monitoring capability development Collaborate with software, hardware, controls and stakeholder teams to ensure seamless integration and validation throughout product development lifecycle. Support FMEA, functional safety (ISO 26262) and system safety activities related to braking features and systems . Understand and contribute to functional decomposition signal mapping and embedded controls development Drive system-level testing, issue resolution, and continuous improvement. Collaborate with safety, software, controls, design, validation, electrical and stakeholder teams to ensure requirements are met and risks are mitigated and achieve enterprise objectives and customer performance. Maintain documentation and ensure compliance with internal and external standards. Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers in systems engineering practices. Escalates and represents technical braking system issues in technical reviews and provide regular updates to leadership and stakeholders Generate & Implement development plans that involve modeling, Software in the loop (SIL) , Hardware in the Loop (HIL) and vehicles Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications) Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Math, Computer Science, IT, or Physics 5+ years of experience in automotive braking systems or chassis feature development. Strong understanding and demonstrated capability in vehicle dynamics, braking control systems, and system engineering principles. Strong understanding of FMEA methodology and requirements management tools Experience with embedded controls Experience with requirements management and simulation tools (e.g., DNG, MATLAB, carsim, INCA, CAN,) Excellent communication, leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills What Will Give You A Competitive Edge (Preferred qualifications) Master’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Systems Engineering Experience with ISO 26262 and functional safety practices Familiarity with model-based development and simulation tools. Prior experience in braking systems and embedded controls Knowledge of ADAS or integrated braking systems High degree of Managerial Courage and Comfort with Ambiguity Why Join Us?
