Purpose of the Role:
The key purpose of this role is to facilitate the accounting, tax and audit operations of the Arrow McLaren IndyCar Team. This role will be responsible for month-end close activities, ensuring timely and accurate reporting. Additionally, this role will take lead in responding to all audit and tax inquiries. The ideal candidate has a strong technical accounting background, excellent attention to detail, analytical thinking, and the ability to work in a dynamic environment with peers from many different backgrounds.
Principal Accountabilities:
Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and adjustments in accordance with GAAP.
Reconcile balance sheet accounts monthly and investigate any variances or discrepancies.
Support the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close process to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
Assist with the preparation of financial statements and management reports.
Review and analyze general ledger accounts for accuracy and completeness.
Support internal and external audits by providing schedules, documentation, and explanations.
Maintain and improve accounting systems, processes, and internal controls.
Assist with processing AP, AR, Payroll.
Assist in budget and forecast preparation by providing historical data and analysis.
Work with department heads to develop budgets and maintain forecasts.
Perform ad hoc financial analysis and special projects as assigned.
Manage yearly 1099 process.
Work closely with VP of Finance & Business and McLaren Racing UK counterparts to ensure a smooth month end close process.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
2–5 years of accounting experience, preferably in a public accounting environment
Excellent Microsoft office (excel) skills, and ability to learn accounting systems
Attention to detail, with proven experience to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
Highly organized
Team Player, willing to assist in areas outside of their immediate job description when necessary
Excellent written and oral communication skills and thrive at working under pressure
