AP Racing is proud to offer a mechatronics placement opportunity to undergraduates who are seeking a year’s industrial experience within a globally recognised company. This placement is to begin in July 2026 and the details are as follows:
Role
Use of MATLAB and Simulink to write functionality and test code for Motorsport electromechanical systems.
Mathematical modelling of complex systems for aid in the mechanical and software aspects of mechatronics products.
Data analysis of tested systems; liaising both internally and externally across various departments, suppliers and customers.
Desirable Skills
Embedded development (e.g. Arduino/Raspberry Pi).
MATLAB (or similar e.g. Python).
Simulink.
3D CAD Modelling.
Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
What We Want From You
Undergraduate studying an engineering degree for at least 2 years, on track for a 2:1 or above. Automotive, Mechanical, Motorsport, Electrical, and Systems Engineering or similar.
Willing to learn new skills, good at problem solving and coming up with creative solutions.
Passion for engineering, willing to work proactively and self-motivated.
Able to work in a team and communicate effectively
Applicants must be returning to university to finish their degree after completion of the placement in order to be considered eligible.
