Hybrid : This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Warren – GM Global Technical Center three times per week, at minimum or other frequency dictated by the business
This position will be responsible for performing strategic design projects related to the Strategic Network Design for GM’s inbound material logistics network, intercontinental & Domestic. Employee will be responsible for data analysis and project development, working with software tools to design an optimized logistics network and communicate results to stakeholders. The employee will work cross-functionally to develop and track projects.
Position Tasks and Responsibilities:

Responsible for Logistics Network Engineering Projects for all Inbound Material, Intercontinental & Domestic

Responsible to Analyze Material Logistics network to generate strategic cost savings using Network Design Modeling Tools and Statistical Analysis

Develop and Manage Tactical Planning process by working with GM IT to develop systems requirements and constraints
-
Work with GM’s service provider (LLP,LSC) design and planning resources to define workload and activity
-
Support Business cases for any logistics changes

Global Alignment with Network Improvement and cost Savings
-
Support regional network capabilities in cooperating GMNA best practices

Support Procurement Activities like Material Global Ocean bid, ODC bids, LOC bids, etc.

Work with Logistics Service providers to strategically analyze Network & Process Improvements

Required Qualifications:
-
5+ years relevant post-graduate work experience in purchasing, supply chain, program/product management, manufacturing, logistics or product development
- High level of oral and written communications skills
- High level of interpersonal skills
- Ability to both work independently and as a member of teams
- Ability to lead a project from start to finish
- Detail oriented and Data Driven
- High process focus
- Cross-functional relationship building
- Energetic and passionate to find solutions to complex supply chain problems
- High Analytic Capability – Excel, Access or SQL – in situations which are ambiguous and complex
- Willing to travel 10% Domestically + Internationally
Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Industrial Engineering, or related fields

Knowledge of data mining/analytics via data warehouse and SQL

Strong working knowledge of Logistics and supply chains

Experience with Strategic network design software and algorithms

Experience with Linear Programming

Expert in gathering and interpret complex quantitative and qualitative data using statistical analysis methods, and able to develop tools for analyses and interpreting supply chain and logistics/containers data.

Demonstrated ability to identify and deliver cost savings, and improve Logistics Networks

Knowledge is network Design tools like LLamasoft, Transpro, IBM, Oracle etc
