The material handling supervisor ensures the timely and efficient supply of materials to the production lines by supervising the operations of receiving, storing, picking, and delivering materials, in compliance with the company's safety, quality, and productivity standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise daily operations related to receiving, storing, picking, and delivering materials.
- Coordinate with Production, Purchasing, and Planning departments to guarantee continuous material flow.
- Monitor inventory levels and ensure proper rotation of materials (FIFO/FEFO).
- Ensure compliance with safe material handling procedures and proper use of internal transportation equipment.
- Identify and resolve issues related to material supply to production lines.
- Validate inventory records and participate in cycle counts and physical inventories.
- Ensure team members are properly trained and equipped with necessary tools and resources.
- Track and report key performance indicators (KPIs) such as on-time delivery, inventory accuracy, and picking efficiency.
- Promote and enforce safety and 5S standards within the work area.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Logistics, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience: 1-2 years of experience in supply chain, procurement, or materials management, preferably in the automotive industry. Familiarity with ERP systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and efficiency.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
