Hybrid : This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Warren – GM Global Technical Center three times per week, at minimum or other frequency dictated by the business.
The Logistics Planner monitors the performance of the transportation plans to ensure accuracy.
This person manages inbound freight from a group of plants, or suppliers to maintain base data accuracy within defined transportation System (TBD).
The Logistics Planner also configures and optimizes transportation planning exceptions in the system as well as exceptions identified at the plant and suppliers.
Candidate will work closely with LLP, Logistics Opps, and Supply Chain to ensure that consistent and reliable plant delivery schedules are maintained
Responsibilities:

Routes inbound freight for his / her suppliers within an assigned geographic region.

Monitors plan accuracy in an effort to identify configuration issues.

Enhances planning workflow by analyzing & developing effective routing procedures.
-
Monitors supplier compliance to system expectations and coordinates corrective actions as required.

Establishes and maintains a strong working relationship with the supplier base in effort to maintain supplier base data accuracy.

Leads process improvement activities.

Identify and implement network wide solutions to improve inbound logistics network targeting people, processes, and systems

Develop, track, and share KPIs related to areas of support and create & drive strategy in focus areas

Involves various levels of management to strengthen supplier compliance through effective communication and follow-through.

Establishes and maintains a strong collaborative working relationship with Plant and Material personnel in order to provide accurate transportation plans.

Serves as a plant initial point of contact for transportation plan updates and exception management

Identifies cost saving opportunities within the supply chain network and contributes to overall

Support regional network capabilities in cooperating GMNA best practices

Support Finance providing data for Forecast/Budget reports

Work with Logistics Service providers to strategically analyze Network & Process Improvements

Required Qualifications:

2+ years of relevant post-graduate work experience in purchasing, supply chain, program/product management, manufacturing, logistics, or product development

Must be willing to travel 10% of the time

Expert in gather and interpret complex quantitative and qualitative data using statistical analysis methods, and able to develop tools for analyses and interpreting supply chain and logistics/containers data.

Demonstrated ability to identify and deliver cost savings, and improve Logistics Networks

High Analytic Capability – Excel, Access, SQL – in situations which are ambiguous and complex
