Description:
- Plans and implements AGVs (Autonomous Guided Vehicles) and STR's (Smart Transport Robots) into the Material Handling Fleet.
- Manages strategic planning and reporting of Automated Systems within the department.
- Collaborates with partners from the planning group on logistics innovation projects.
- Investigates, improves, and stabilizes overall logistics site processes in support of company targets.
- Performs technical and financial evaluations to support the tendering process of automated solutions.
- Investigates fleet maintenance options and setup including infrastructure and required equipment.
- Manages logistics automation equipment fleet.
- Drives process improvements for optimized site logistics strategy.
- Develops methods/methodologies to support planning process.
- Provides training and production support for the smart AGV team.
- Completes performance tracking of AGV's within production and manages weekly KPI's.
- Coordinates with the smart AGV team to identity, document, and resolve significant issues on the floor.
- Serves as a technical expert on STR's and autonomous transport system (ATS).
- Leads and performs AGV changes to paths, points of interest, and layouts.
- Collaborates with the maintenance department to manage repairs for the AGV fleet and ensure quick return to production.
- Supports the planning department with implementation of future AGVs, as well as other automation technologies, such as Rack RFID and Autonomous Forklifts.
- Organizes, facilities, and documents meetings as required.
- Implements changes within the autonomous systems as required.
- Understands and models VPS (Value Added Production System) Principles and concepts of Standard Work.
- Adheres to 5S and Safety Standards and Principles.
- Performs other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
- BA/BS degree in Engineering, Robotics, or a related technical field OR AA/AS degree in a related technical field AND 2 years of professional robotics, vehicles, engineering, or related experience OR the equivalent of 4 years of professional experience in robotics, vehicles, engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of professional experience commissioning, troubleshooting, and/or repairing robotics, PLC interfaces, STR's, or AGV's within a manufacturing environment. environment.
- 3+ years of supervisory/project leadership.
- 5+ years of MS Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint, Access).
- 5+ years of professional communication skills (written, verbal and presentation).
- 5+ years of Robotics knowledge, including programming skills.
- 5+ years of PLC systems knowledge.
- 5+ years of automation systems, vehicles, and techniques knowledge.
- 3+ years of ability to foster networks and partnerships.
- 3+ years of analytical skills.
- 3+ years of ability to lead strategic planning, change processes, results-based management, and reporting.
- 3+ years of ability to lead formulation, oversight of implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of development projects.
- Fluency (written & verbal) in English language skills. German preferred.
