Work Arrangement
This role is categorized as on-site. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to GM Japan Headquarter office in Tokyo, Japan full time.
The Role -
Key person to lead product launch readiness of BEV products to Japanese market
Ensure successful BEV launch and become go to person for BEV related product queries from dealers and other GM functions
What You’ll Do -
- Work with engineering validation team in USA and develop plan and execute charging verification tests for new BEV products against key AC chargers and DCFC CHAdeMO chargers in Japan
- Focal point to report charging test results to GM engineers and support issue resolutions to identified charging issues (correspondence in English)
- Facilitate vehicle software/hardware update as needed to apply latest vehicle configuration to verify improvement of BEV charging functionality
- Support product director to define adequate BEV charger specification to be installed at GM dealers
- Focal point to interface with BEV charging related suppliers and external partners (charging network provider, charging system manufactures, home charger suppliers, CHAdeMO association, etc.)
- Develop dealer BEV training plan and training material with training providers
- Facilitate Captured Test Fleet (vehicle quality verification ride process) and report identified issues to regional quality function and support issue resolutions (communication in English)
- Facilitate Port of Entry inspection (quality inspection of arrived new product), Start of Sales PQRR (Program Quality Readiness Review) and other product quality process representing Japan market
- Support local verification test for vehicle connectivity services
- Interface preparation of translated BEV Owner’s Manual
- Verification of cluster HMI language translation
- Develop BEV PDI check list for PDI center
- Support Marketing functions for development of BEV product brochures
Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)
- Minimum 5 years of working experience in automotive industry
- Good understanding of vehicle specification and behavior
- Basic understanding of engineering requirements for BEV charging features
- Facilitation capability in English language
