Position Objective
Provide leadership on the Vehicle Process Engineering department, by giving strategic direction to advance the
company's objectives, savings and productivity aligned with the manufacturing methodology.
Functions
STRATEGIC: 50%
⚫ Creating and implementing corporate objectives through the development of key growth manufacturing strategies, tactics, and action plans to hit annual targets.
⚫ Assure risk assessment and health assessments analysis and implementation.
⚫ Manufacturing project Studies approval evaluating project feasibility and required investment to comply with approved funds and timing schedules including development, definition, justification, approval, and implementation.
⚫ Assure the correct development and implementation of manufacturing engineering projects required by the corporate product programs, into the current or new production lines.
⚫ Verify compliance with local and corporate regulations in the implementation of projects.
⚫ Monitor that the COC guidelines are followed and in México´s projects and update the standards according to Mexico´s regulations and needs.
OPERATIONAL: 20%
⚫ Assure tooling and equipment specifications to accomplish projects within timing and scope
⚫ Assure OEM (suppliers) timing, design, construction, installation, testing, certification, validation, cycle time and pilots run.
⚫ Assure workbooks filled.
⚫ Supervise the administration, approval and control of supplier progress, progress reports, invoice sign off for payment and adequate use of resources.
⚫ Assure administration and implementation of facilities projects-buildings and civil works, investment projects codes 01 and 03 (capacity increases and new models) and others assigned to the department, complying with corporate and governmental norms and processes required by the specialty.
⚫ Assure maintenance, administration, and implementation of Improvement Projects to our facilities.
⚫ Verify and update the manufacturing standards to achieve throughput
RESOURCE MANAGEMENT: 30%
⚫ Facilities and tooling constraints management
⚫ BIW, GA, Facilities and Paint investment approval handling to meet standards.
⚫ Define the required human and material resources on each phase of the project and the plan for the execution in coordination with plant, engineering and suppliers’ team
⚫ Assure the provision of capital plan, expenditures information & control systems to satisfy the project technical needs as well as finance community requirements, satisfying corporate standards and procedures
⚫ Bachelor's Degree in Engineering and master’s degree is preferable.
⚫ English proficiency
⚫ Minimum of 15 years in Manufacturing management: Project development and implementation, BIW and
GA, Facilities and Paint processes and standards.
Technical Knowledge
⚫ In-depth understanding of the industry including risk management, compliance, and regulatory requirements
⚫ In-depth understanding of accounting principles including budgeting, balance sheets, income statements, cash flow, and capital planning management
