Position Overview
The AI ??& Future Business Fields Intern supports cutting-edge projects that sit at the intersection of connected-car technology, artificial intelligence, and new business model exploration. Working alongside engineers, data scientists, and business strategists, the intern helps prototype AI solutions, validate data pipelines, and scout opportunities that leverage vehicle data to improve processes or create entirely new revenue streams.
Roles & Responsibilities
Support ML/AI prototyping efforts: build and test quick-turn proof-of-concept models (e.g., predictive maintenance, driver-assistant features, generative-AI interfaces). Support conducting automotive pre-series testing operations, focusing on new technologies and features
Assist with data-pipeline development & validation for in-vehicle or cloud-based datasets (ingestion, cleaning, feature engineering, monitoring). Maintain and assist with cross-section upgrades of the test fleets
Conduct business-case scouting: benchmark emerging AI applications, assess market potential, and prepare concise opportunity briefs for leadership.
Help craft internal dashboards, KPIs, and reports to track experiment outcomes and knowledge transfer.
Participate in cross-functional workshops, giving input on feasibility, timelines, and resource needs.
Contribute to hardware-to-AI connectivity tests (CAN, Ethernet, sensors, edge devices) to verify end-to-end data flow from the vehicle to AI services.Support Department Management and Project Lead creating reports
Create a KPI summary of monitored and executed activities
Perform other duties as assigned in support of the department’s evolving roadmap

Required qualifications include:
Education
Actively pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Electrical/Systems Engineering, Business Analytics, or a closely related field.Experience
Interest in AI & automotive technology and a desire to work hands-on with data and hardware.
Familiarity with Python (or similar) and basic data-analysis workflows.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; German a plus.
Strong organizational skills, self-motivation, and integrity when handling sensitive data.
Ability to work on-site in Los Angeles up to 40 hours per week.

While performing the duties of this job the employee is required to talk, hear, walk, sit, stand, climb stairs on occasion with extended periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Must be able to work effectively and complete tasks in an open office/noisy environment.
This job operates in an automotive workshop and office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, cameras, photocopiers, and filing cabinets. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, automotive parts at operational temperature and vibration. The noise level in the work environment and job site can be loud.
The Pay Range for this position is $19 - $21 per hour, depending on educational status.
