Position Objective:
Responsible for configuring financial data for the Finance & Controlling department and consulting team while supporting the development of the subsidiary.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Maintain various sub-ledgers (e.g. AR, AP, Fixed Assets) to support general ledger accounts and reconcile the sub-ledgers to the general ledger to ensure integrity of systems and internal controls. Provide customer, vendor, and asset account reconciliations monthly for review and approval.
- Reconcile all balance sheet accrual accounts on a monthly basis.
- Collect and analyse financial information for the subsequent preparation of journal entries for month-end close including accruals and deferrals to ensure accurate and proper presentation of financial statements.
- Support the month-end close reporting of financial information to ensure accuracy, integrity, usability, and timeliness of various legal and management reports and schedules.
- Create, process, and monitor expense reports ensuring that all expenses adhere to company policies.
- Approve travel expense reports and steer the spending status
- Prepare and submit customer invoices and subsequently track incoming payments and addressing past due payments with appropriate action.
- Maintain the Accounts Payable system to ensure timely approval, submission, and payment of vendor invoices.
- Manage the project-tracking system including training, maintaining system integrity, and answering user questions.
- Monitor daily cash flow and credit line, support the cash management system by creating weekly report to ensure adequate working capital.
- Prepare weekly report for Senior Management, summarizing project leads, proposals, and week over week changes.
- Assist colleagues with the Procurement process to ensure users follow internal control policies while ensuring the timely procurement of goods/services and their subsequent payment.
- Identify and assist with special projects needed in the Finance & Controlling department.
- Back-up for other functions in the department to ensure proper coverage during absences and holidays.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or equivalent required.
Experience (Job and Industry):
- 1-3 years corporate experience; emphasis in Finance (or related field)
- Ideal candidate will also have experience with accounting (month-end close, journal entries, account reconciliations, etc.)
- Highly proficient with Microsoft Excel; Proficient with PowerPoint; basic knowledge of Power BI as a plus
- Knowledge of ERP systems preferred (e.g. SAP)
