We are looking for a person to be hired within the
Research & Development Global Central Function who will be responsible for
developing electromechanical components especially plastic housing that integrate electronic components (PCBA, connectors, lead frame, press fit…) and assembly for electromechanics or electrohydraulic systems.
Main Responsibilities
- To guarantee an innovative approach to the product development participating to generative idea activities (brainstorming, IPR analysis, claim chart…)
- To guarantee the protection of new idea filing patents and following the interna guidelines “IP related”
- To develop and optimize designs from concept through production, ensuring the highest standards of performance, efficiency, and manufacturability. A proven experience in plastic components design is required, preferably obtained by injection molding process. Expertise in electric connectors (i.e. lead frame, receptables, etc.) and PCBA integration would be considered a plus
- To choose appropriate materials for components related to durability, mechanical requirements, electrical requirements, weight, and manufacturability factors
- To perform mechanical analysis or calculation to assess mechanical integrity of the parts under various operating conditions defined by product specifications or to interface with CAE team to support simulation and output evaluation
- To perform DFMEA analysis in order to minimize the project risk
- To collaborate with suppliers to ensure feasibility analysis and high quality standards request by application.
- To develop 3D and 2D drawings to oversee prototypes for new components and assembly.
- To Manage all components developed respecting the internal guidelines defined from the MD manager and TL (procedures, methodologies, PDM/PLM
- To collaborate with other teams to ensure best components/assembly integration into overall system (gearbox, PCBA, foundation, others)
- To implement continuous improvement by identifying areas for design optimization, manufacturing processes and methodologies
- To implement corrective actions based on testing or application feedback
- To implement innovation approach to components and assembly design
- To collaborate to identify with benchmark activities best practice from suppliers/competitors.
Minimum Requirements
- Master degree in Mechanical/Aeronautical Engineering
- At least 5 years of experience in similar roles
- Experience in the design of plastic components
- Experience in the mechanical integration of electrical/electronic components
- Excellent knowledge of the English language
- Knowledge of FMEA methodology
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
- Familiarity with parametric modeling tools (preferably CATIA V5)
Nice to have
- Familiarity with FEM simulation tools
- Familiarity with PDM/PLM management systems
- Familiarity with injection molding simulation tools
