Tasks
Virtual functional validation using CAE methods is at the heart of digital transformation in the automotive industry and has become indispensable in vehicle development. Our work focuses on the simulation-based design and optimization of complete vehicles and the validation of their functions within the framework of verification and validation (V&V).
During your internship, you will gain comprehensive insights into the Porsche working environment and support us in optimally designing and validating vehicle functions. One focus is the virtual validation of vehicle safety in full-vehicle crashes using finite element methods (FEM). To ensure optimal validation of the body system, robustness analyses and the development of optimization process chains are also used. Other focuses include structural dynamics (including natural frequency analyses), ground clearance validation, and the further development of the CAE methods used, particularly in the area of ??material modeling and joining technology.
You have the opportunity to complete your internship in one of these areas. Feel free to state your preferences for specific areas of focus in your cover letter.
The following tasks await you during your internship:
Participation in the virtual validation of vehicle safety in full-vehicle crash simulation
Support in the development of new CAE methods, particularly in the areas of material and joining technology modeling and optimization
FEM investigations in the field of structural dynamics and natural frequency analysis
Collaboration in programming and scripting for process automation
Support in project and interface management in collaboration with internal and external partners
