Tasks
Nothing works without the right logistics. As a team member in the areas of Logistics Planning & Transport Network, Automation & Digitization, EDI Connection / Logistics Readiness, Operations Management, or Series/Pre-Series Scheduling, you can help shape internal and external logistics processes.
Precise planning plays a crucial role in our lean logistics processes and the associated low inventories. This is the only way to logistically manage the wide variety of our vehicles.
For our various teams within Logistics, we are looking for dedicated students from various degree programs, such as Logistics, Industrial Engineering, Business/Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Business Administration/Economics, or similar.
Intern (m/f/d) Logistics Planning and Transport Network
What you can expect: In the exciting environment of logistics, we work in one of the most modern automobile plants in the world. Our logistics concept is highly innovative and is constantly evolving. We act as a service provider for manufacturing. Complex and standardized processes are planned, evaluated, implemented, and ensured along the entire supply chain, from suppliers to employees on the production floor. Logistics is responsible for processes both within and outside the plant boundaries to guarantee customers 100% logistical quality. Furthermore, we are responsible for the conceptual design and implementation of strategic logistics projects. During early product development (PEP), our department at the Leipzig plant is the primary contact for brand logistics planning. Within this framework, we plan and evaluate the logistics processes for the integration of new vehicle projects and are responsible for the development of logistics areas as part of plant structure planning. We are looking for you to support the following tasks:
Implementation of new logistics concepts
Optimization of processes – including sustainability in logistics
Logistics planning for new vehicle projects
Preparation of committees as well as maintenance and preparation of reporting and key performance indicator systems
Day-to-day operations
Intern (m/f/d) in the area of ??Automation & Digitalization
What you can expect: Due to digitalization, IT is playing an ever-increasing role in our daily work. In our area, you will gain exciting insights into working with logistics information/systems. The focus is on the systematic mapping and support of physical inbound and in-house processes. We support end users, act as an interface between users and developers, and are also actively involved in the development and implementation of new functions and systems.
Familiarity with logistics business and IT processes and their systematic implementation
Familiarity with and work with logistics IT systems (SAP, material flow control)
Imparting knowledge of the classification and application of IT systems, as well as the use of IT systems to support logistics tasks
Participation in the analysis and processing of logistics issues
Support in projects for the implementation of digitalization/Industry 0/Innovations
Intern (m/f/d) EDI Connection / Logistics Readiness
What you can expect: With us, you will recognize the practical connections between material flow and the upstream flow of information. We are the interface between suppliers, freight forwarders, and several internal Porsche departments for all EDI topics and questions. With us and through daily communication with our colleagues in the interface areas, you will learn the effects of faulty information flows. You will be able to specifically use and expand your communication skills in dealing with suppliers and internal interfaces. We are looking for you, with a certain level of system affinity, to support the following tasks:
Project to convert EDIFACT formats – from initial supplier contact to test data validation
Contacting suppliers to eliminate errors in the information flow
Support in the maintenance and further development of EDI key performance indicator monitoring
Intern (m/f/d) Operations Management
What you can expect: In the logistics control center, you will gain insight into operational logistics. In this area, the entire material flow is monitored and controlled. Emergency and failure strategies must be initiated in the event of deviations. In order to maintain a constant overview of material flows, various key performance indicators must be visualized in the control center. For this reason, we are looking for you with IT affinity to support the following tasks:
Analysis, optimization, and automation of existing workflows and development of new queries for visualizing logistics key performance indicators in the logistics cockpit/dashboard
Improvement and documentation of workflows in the logistics control center
Maintenance and further development of key performance indicator systems and reports
In day-to-day operations to ensure logistics availability in the various departments
Intern (m/f/d) Scheduling Series
What you can expect: As part of the scheduling team, you will have the opportunity to gain insight into the entire supply chain. Day-to-day operations primarily focus on ensuring the supply of materials. To do this, you will learn how to work with our transport planning tools and the inventory management system. Coordination with external partners such as suppliers and freight forwarders, as well as with internal interfaces, will determine your daily work and require your strong communication skills.
Furthermore, you can use your IT knowledge to optimize existing processes and actively participate in reporting. We are looking for you to support the following tasks:
Supporting purchased parts suppliers along the entire supply chain
Developing short-term solution strategies for supply bottlenecks
Further development of planning and control tools
Further development of key performance indicator systems and reports
Intern (m/f/d) Pre-Series Scheduling
What you can expect: In our work environment, you will gain insight into the pre-series production processes in the body shop, paint shop, and assembly departments. You will have the opportunity to independently manage suppliers and thus help ensure material supplies. In addition, you will support your colleagues in the preparation of required reports and the preparation of parts tables in assembly as part of your day-to-day business. Through this internship, you will become familiar with a variety of interfaces (internal/external).
We are looking for you to support us in the following tasks:
Supporting suppliers in the pre-production phase, from initial contact, including integration with the factory, to series production readiness and handover to series planning
Developing short-term solution strategies for supply bottlenecks
Preparing and following up on parts tables in the factory
Further developing key performance indicator systems, including creating the resulting reports
