Job Purpose
The Silverstone Festival is a leading celebration of motorsport culture, attracting fans, families, enthusiasts, and key brand partners. Committed to innovation and evolution, we are seeking a creative and strategic Senior Event and Experience Manager to elevate the festival through cutting-edge trends and technologies.
As Senior Event and Experience Manager, you will shape the Festival’s creative vision, integrating the latest event innovations with world-class motorsport experiences to deliver an unforgettable journey from ticketing to post-event engagement.
The Senior Event and Experience Manager will oversee the full operational delivery of the festival, ensuring seamless planning, safety, infrastructure, and stakeholder collaboration. This leadership role demands a proactive, detail-focused professional with proven experience in delivering large-scale public events, driving fan engagement, operational excellence, and supporting Silverstone’s sustainability and brand goals.
Key Relationships
- Public Events and BGP Operations teams.
- All internal departments. The key business areas critical to the success of our events including finance, marketing, catering, logistics and venue operations.
- External third-party suppliers (traders, contractors, suppliers, Motorsport clubs, clients/organisers and our fans).
Key Responsibilities
1. Trend-Driven Event Strategy & Operational Excellence
- Develop a 3-year strategic plan to deliver operationally excellent, innovative, and trendsetting fan experiences that establish Silverstone Festival as the world’s leading celebration of car culture, balancing creativity with flawless event execution.
- Monitor event industry trends and innovate immersive concepts that enhance motorsport and car culture atmosphere and fan engagement that appeals to and grows the target audience.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to align creative vision with brand and market developments.
- Take full ownership of operational delivery for Silverstone Festival including budget management, site planning and inspections, cleaning, traffic management, emergency and contingency planning, and post-event evaluation.
- Coordinate with relevant departments to ensure infrastructure setup, security, and stewarding align with event requirements.
- Support the Head of Public Events to build the Silverstone Festival team. Lead and mentor direct reports, providing event advice, coaching, and accountability.
- Create safe, compliant operational plans, production schedules, cascade briefings and event timelines aligned with creative concepts and stakeholder requirements.
- Lead on identifying and implementing procurement strategies that drive cost efficiencies, ensuring all goods and services meet required quality, safety, and operational standards
- Take ownership of site design, ensuring layouts are operationally effective, visually impactful, and aligned with safety regulations and event requirements.
- Drive continuous improvement by leading post-event reviews, assessing performance against KPIs, and applying learnings to future planning
2. Technology Integration & Innovation
- Implement and integrate AR/VR, AI-driven tools, interactive displays, and live streaming solutions to enhance attendee experience.
- Ensure technology deployment is seamless from pre-event communication through on-site execution to post-event engagement.
- Identify development areas for the event app to enhance the overall experience
3. Fan-Centric Experience Design
- Design a seamless, data-driven end-to-end attendee journey that incorporates immersive environments and modern service trends.
- Use analytics and customer feedback to tailor event elements, manage crowds effectively, and deploy gamification and personalised experiences that drive satisfaction and engagement.
4. Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Lead multi-disciplinary teams across marketing, operations, hospitality, and commercial departments to ensure seamless event delivery using project management tools to deliver.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with partners, sponsors, and stakeholders, fostering collaboration and innovation.
- Represent the fan experience in strategic discussions and provide detailed reports to senior leadership and the board.
5. Partner & Sponsor Engagement
- Develop innovative sponsorship activations and experiential marketing opportunities that align with the festival’s vision and enhance attendee value.
- Ensure sponsor deliverables integrate smoothly into the event without detracting from the fan experience
6. On-Site Execution & Real-Time Operational Management
- Oversee seamless on-site delivery by working closely with teams responsible for infrastructure, security, stewarding, access control, and emergency response.
- Act as Duty Manager during events to ensure safe, smooth operations and respond effectively to any issues.
- Utilise real-time data and feedback tools to monitor attendee engagement, making on-the-fly adjustments to improve experiences.
- Coordinate logistics and operational services to align with innovative event concepts and fan expectations.
7. Post-Event Engagement & Continuous Improvement
- Drive post-event communications including personalised follow-ups, surveys, and content sharing to maintain attendee engagement.
- Analyse event data and feedback to identify trends and improvement opportunities, informing strategic planning for future editions.
- Present actionable recommendations to evolve the festival and maintain competitive advantage.
8. Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG) Focus
- Lead sustainable event practices, including waste reduction, sustainable sourcing, and carbon footprint minimisation, supporting Silverstone’s Net Zero 2030 target.
- Work with suppliers and partners to embed green technologies without compromising event quality or safety.
- Partner with relevant charities aligned with the motorsport community to deliver meaningful engagement.

- Line Management of the Silverstone Festival planning and delivery team
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Proven experience in fan engagement, event management / project management and marketing at a senior level, ideally within sports or entertainment.
- A deep understanding of global trends within events and the ability to apply innovative solutions to elevate Silverstone Festival
- Exceptional leadership and communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to use data and insight to inform decision-making and strategy development.
- Passion for motorsport and entertainment, with a commitment to delivering world-class events.
