We have an excellent opportunity for a Junior Controls Engineer to be part of our highly skilled Control Systems Group. Work on the development of our multi-championship-winning Formula One cars in our open and dynamic environment, where your contribution will play a crucial role in our continued success in the racetrack. In this role, you will learn all the key engineering disciplines required to take on a key role within the Control Systems Engineering Group. Ultimately, there will be responsibility for the development and deployment of software and systems to support chassis control systems. These systems will be key in the performance and reliability of the race car.
Key Accountabilities:
- Support the development and implementation of group DIL/HIL/SIL systems.
- Develop component and system models to improve simulation environments for car and simulator operations.
- Support the development and implementation of dynamometer control systems.
- Adding to and improving the existing suite of both on and off car analysis tools to facilitate more efficient, performant, and robust operations.
- Support the transition to the next generation Power Unit and control electronics.
- Support research into new fields for control and analysis of systems.
Key requirements:
- Be educated to degree level within Mechanical Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or other relevant engineering discipline.
- In depth knowledge of control system principles
- Software languages including C/C++ & C#
- Good mathematical skills with an engineering background
- A strong working knowledge of Matlab/Simulink environment
