We are seeking a skilled Carbon Fiber Technician to join our team and play a crucial role in the production of precision carbon composite parts for race cars. This position is directly responsible for manufacturing and quality control, ensuring that all components meet design specifications and performance standards for each race and test event.
Duties and Responsibilities
Collaborate with engineers and team leaders to prepare carbon fiber parts for race cars.
Read and interpret engineering blueprints to select the right materials and production processes.
Fabricate and modify precision carbon fiber components using manual tools such as calipers, die grinders, drills, sanders, air saws, and rivet guns.
Safely bond carbon fiber components using epoxy resins, adhesives, and vacuum bagging techniques.
Program and monitor ovens to ensure proper carbon fiber curing.
Conduct quality control inspections, ensuring components meet exact specifications.
Manage inventory and ordering of carbon fiber materials, adhesives, chemicals, and solvents.
Maintain a clean and organized workspace while following all safety protocols.
Represent the team professionally, including interactions with sponsors and guests.
Qualifications
2-3 years of experience as a carbon fiber technician, preferably in automotive or aerospace industries.
Strong proficiency in precision measuring tools and blueprint interpretation.
Hands-on experience with manual machining tools (calipers, drills, grinders, sanders, etc.).
Knowledge of epoxy resins, bonding agents, and composite materials.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-performance environment and meet tight deadlines.
High school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications are a plus.
