Purpose of the Role
- To aid in the scheduling and coordination of manufactured products from release, to manufacturing through to completion, ensuring maximum performance and minimum delay.
- Proactively address potential or actual material shortages with suppliers to track and improve shortage dates.
- Responsible for liaising with the production, purchasing, sales and project teams to achieve the successful completion of work orders through to customer delivery.
Responsibilities:
- Confer with department Managers to determine overdue work and to inform production planners of material status
- Contact suppliers by phone and email to chase shortages
- Contact suppliers by phone and email to expedite outstanding Purchase Orders
- Contact suppliers by phone and email to ensure Purchase Orders are to schedule
- Keeping track of shipments and movement of material, providing regular updates to key stake holders as to the progress of parts.
- Coordinating with subcontractors to ensure schedules are maintained
- Update SAGE with latest delivery information
- Participation in the production daily stand-up meetings.
- Identify opportunities to consolidate work orders allowing more efficient production builds
- Ensure production EOQ’s are considered when loading production work orders
- DCR management and liaising with sales admin
- Support materials for the returns process
Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications and Experience:
- Operational experience in supply chain management is essential.
- Excellent verbal, written and presentation communication skills.
- Good understanding or previous experience of ERP or similar.
- IT skills, advanced excel capability and reporting skills are an advantage.
- Have a high level of initiative and ability to work independently.
- Excellent organisational skills.
