We are expanding our team and looking to recruit a dynamic and motivated Composite Design Engineer to work with colleagues and the related engineering functions within Vehicle Design to support in the delivery of the most advanced, performant and reliable designs to agreed timeframes; optimising mass, stiffness and design for manufacture.
This is a fantastic opportunity to take ownership and responsibility for specific car components or assemblies that can deliver performance to the car. To be successful in this role you will have a good understanding of the delivery of engineering designs and drawings of composite components, laminates and assemblies in accordance to defined standards and procedures.
As a Composite Design Engineer, you will:
Work collaboratively with Principal, Senior Engineers and Program Managers to define deliverables and project scope to ensure all requirements are met.
Proactively address faults, manufacturing queries, feedback, NCR’s and other related departmental tasks.
Take ownership of key aspects of the Vehicle Design Vison, Goals and Strategy to create a best in industry high performance design team.
Contribute to Research and Development projects within the department.
Be the Technical authority if requested for their project when the Principal or Senior Engineers are not present.
Track record and demonstration of advanced and reliable design solutions with supporting calculations and unambiguous engineering drawings.
Our ideal candidate is someone who:
Is self-motivated, innovative and capable of working generally unsupervised to challenging deadliness.
Can communicate effectively with other engineers both written and verbal and support the wider organisation.
Is degree level qualified in Mechanical, Automotive, Aerospace, Marine or other related engineering discipline.
Has a proactive approach to problem-solving, along with good attention to detail.
Good CAD skills, ideally with experience of NX, however training will be provided for conversion from other CAD systems.
Has a strong passion for engineering, innovation and detailed design work.
