General Summary:
This position reports to the Race Team Operations Leader or their designee, located in Banbury, UK. This position forms part of the group of garage technician’s factory based. Responsible for the team and hospitality sea freight, air freight, road freight. Supporting of all functions of Race team operations when trackside in implementing the trackside electrical installations and de-rigs.
Key Responsibilities:
Promote teamwork and effective communications to develop working relationships between all personnel and departments.
Maintaining and servicing of Electrical Items including yearly PAT Testing of electrical equipment used within the sea freight sets when at the factory for turnaround.
Building of Race Team Garage electrical equipment and installations (single and 3 phase systems) when required at track. This includes maintaining and service of electrical items and equipment when trackside.
Ensuring a high level of maintenance of all associated ancillary items while at track and Factory.
Assuming all roles and responsibilities undertaken by the race team Electrician when trackside, guaranteeing that requirements are met accordingly and in a safe and professional manner reporting to the Race Team Coordinator.
Inputting into the electrical design along with Race team electrician of new specialized equipment projects.
Maintaining of all pit equipment in accordance with schedules and presentation standards.
Providing support during the turnaround process at factory of Sea freight equipment. In doing so will require a level of mechanical / electrical / IT aptitude showing a high level of attention to detail.
Ensuring all sea freight sets meets the correct content and compliance for shipment.
Following all safety regulations in all venues.
Assuming any responsibilities and duties delegated by the Race Team Operations Leader or their designee.
Education and Work Experience:
Electrical Installation (18th Edition) Qualification or similar.
PAT Test experience.
GCSE, High School diploma or equivalent required.
3 years of work experience in a professional motorsport’s environment is preferred.
Experience of working in an Electrical environment.
Specialized Knowledge and Skills:
Ability to diagnose equipment faults and create solutions to solve associated issues.
Self-motivated with the ability to use initiative where appropriate.
Good verbal and written communication skills
Strong analytical skills and ability to overcome technical and operational issues.
Ability to follow complex regulations related to shipment of materials and facility maintenance requirements.
Work to a consistently high standard in stressful and time sensitive situations.
Quick decision-making skills whilst working through problems in a scientific and analytical way.
Work well within a team environment with personnel at all levels.
A sympathetic approach to your work colleagues and an ability to integrate within a group environment.
A can-do positive approach and a willingness to help others is essential.
Equipment and Applications:
Working knowledge of Microsoft office products (Outlook, Excel, Word).
Strong mechanical aptitude
Work Environment Physical Demands:
An ability to work and prioritize within a high pressure, time sensitive environment while retaining a methodical approach is essential. The role may require extensive domestic & international travel and a willingness to work long and flexible hours including weekends.
This position may require lifting to 50 pounds, repeated bending, squatting and manual dexterity. Fast-paced work environment requiring heavy mental demands. Work environment includes machinery, race cars, 7-post and other rigs, grinding debris, and hazardous fluids. All employees must ensure compliance with the Company Health and Safety Policy, and all relevant other statutory Health and Safety legislation.
