On Site : This role is categorized as onsite. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to the GM Defense Production Facility in Concord, North Carlina on a full-time basis (2nd Shift, shift is four 10's, Sunday - Wednesday, 16:30-02:30 am). This role requires flexibility to support changes in scheduled days, hours, and shift based on business needs.

The Role:
We are seeking a highly analytical and proactive Problem Solver to identify, analyze, and resolve complex manufacturing and quality issues. This role is crucial for ensuring the highest standards of product quality and operational efficiency within General Motors.
What You'll Do:
- Lead and participate in problem-solving activities using structured methodologies, focusing on root cause analysis and implementing sustainable corrective actions.
- Collaborate with Engineering and Supplier Quality teams to investigate and resolve issues related to component quality, design specifications, and supplier performance.
- Apply expertise and experience to analyze part deviations, assembly issues, and ensure adherence to design specifications.
- Leverage knowledge of previous Quality Reporting Systems to access critical information, track progress, and manage supplier-related problem resolution.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives in manufacturing operations, focusing on defect reduction, waste elimination, and efficiency gains.
- Effectively track, communicate, and document problem resolution progress and outcomes to relevant stakeholders.
Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in lieu of a degree.
- 2+ years of relevant work experience
- Candidate must be a U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, U.S. permanent resident, asylee or refugee).
- U.S. citizenship required to comply with federal government contract provision expressly restricting role to U.S. citizens.
- Proven experience in a manufacturing environment with a strong focus on quality and problem resolution.
- Requires flexibility to support changes in scheduled days, hours, and shift based on business needs.
- Demonstrated proficiency in problem solving using tools and methodologies.
- Understanding and practical application of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and identify root causes.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across various teams and with suppliers.
- A strong commitment to continuous improvement and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
What Can Give You a Competitive Advantage (Preferred Qualifications)
- Knowledge of and ability to effectively use computer software as it pertains to quality engineering
- Knowledge of design tolerances and gauge function
- Understanding of supplier quality standards
- Engineering or quality background
- Knowledge of GMS principles and practices
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, or related field) preferred.
