Job Purpose
This role will focus on the functional aspect of the ADAS test engineer position, including ADAS functional ownership, specifications setting, tuning, and validation. The employee will assume person-in-charge (PIC) responsibility and coordinate/perform a full range of test/development activities relevant to departmental and organizational needs.
Key Accountabilities
- Develop functional requirements for CAN interface
- Develop the functional software requirements related to CAN interface, Self-Diagnostic, Failsafe Detection for each vehicle development
- Oversee the testing of related vehicle systems, negotiate hardware and software interfaces to integrate the system into the vehicle, instrument and troubleshoot vehicles for testing, analyze test data, recommend solutions for test failures, determine root cause(s) and lead/coach/mentor junior engineers within the group as a Lead PIC (person in charge) for development projects
- Manage development projects/schedules, coordinate with corollary departments/suppliers and research new technologies and market trends
Qualifications, Experience, and Skills
- Education: Bachelor’s level degree / diploma in Electrical and/or Mechanical Engineering or a related STEM field of study
- Minimum work experience: At least 5 or more years of relevant demonstrable experience in the industry
- Other job-specific skills: Comprehensive understanding of vehicle dynamics, steering control functions, and experience for tuning vehicle control systems, powertrain, and braking
Workstyle
This is an onsite job. One remote workday a week may be possible with prior departmental approval.
