Multimatic Michigan is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to report to the Plant Manager and be responsible for supervising, directing, planning, and implementing all skilled trade activity in an automotive manufacturing environment.
Key responsibilities include: Instituting, reviewing, and rationalizing all PMs and improving programs to reduce downtime and improve overall maintenance costs. Leading a multi-technical team across multiple shifts and ensuring open and effective communication within the department, all other departments, external contractors, and vendors. Facilitating continuous improvement teams. Approving associate timecards and completing attendance paperwork accurately. Assessing and planning training for associates to improve skills. Managing and directing department associates, assessing performance, providing feedback, and conducting annual performance evaluations. Assigning associates to troubleshoot, repair, and replace machinery for maximum machine utilization. Coordinating weekly PM schedules to optimize skilled trade effectiveness when equipment is available. Planning, scheduling, and managing all shutdown and start-up related activities. Recommending a budget plan and participating in capital projects. Driving productivity, safety, and process improvement opportunities. Utilizing instructions, manuals, pre-established guidelines, and forms to perform job functions and recommend improvements to internal systems. Providing assistance to tasks as needed by the Plant Manager. Working in compliance with IATF16949 and ISO14001 standards. Complying with all legislative requirements of MIOSHA.
Qualifications include: High school diploma or general education degree (GED). Post-secondary diploma from a technical college. Minimum 5 years of experience in repairing production equipment, preferably for an automotive parts manufacturer. Minimum 2 years of supervisory/leadership experience. Journeyman certification is an asset. Ability to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues. Experience working with PLCs. Strong problem-solving techniques. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
