We are seeking an experienced Electronics Hardware Engineer to join our team. As an Electronics Hardware Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and developing electronic systems, circuits, and PCBs for automotive applications. Your primary focus will be on architectural development, circuit design, analysis, and documentation. You will also be responsible for debugging, verification, and validation testing of designs. Additionally, you will own designs, devise solutions, and solve problems as they arise. You will be required to create appropriate documentation to allow long-term support of the product and identify areas for improvement, including tools, techniques, and processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Architectural development of electronic systems to automotive process and standards
- Circuit design, analysis, and documentation
- Design debugging, verification, and validation testing
- Ownership of designs, devising solutions, and solving problems as they arise
- Appropriate documentation of the design to allow long-term support of the product
- Identify areas for improvement, including tools, techniques, and processes
Desirable Experience:
- Design for automotive environments
- Design of safety-related hardware and functionally safe hardware development
- PCB design layout & routing using PCB tools
- Design for reliability; derating of components
- Reliability analysis, FMEA
- Taking a design from architecture through to production
- Design for manufacture
- Design for test
- Design for qualification; EMC, environmental
- Product qualification; EMC and environmental testing
- Writing simple hardware test software
Previous Engineering Tools & Lab Experience:
- Schematic capture – Altium preferably
- PCB layout viewers, ODB++ & gerber viewers
- SPICE circuit simulators
- Use of common lab bench equipment; scopes, signal generators, DMMs, etc.
- Soldering of through-hole and SMT components
