Purpose/Overview of Role
The Payroll Manager is responsible for the execution of payroll and timekeeping operation for Mexico. The role includes leading various work streams such as Hourly Payroll, Salary Payroll, Confidential Payroll, Tax Compliance, Social Security and Timekeeping. Given the number of inputs coming into payroll, this role includes daily interaction with HR, Labor, Manufacturing, IT, Finance, GBS, as well as the different vendors supporting the payroll operation such as ADP, E&Y, and KPMG.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end payroll processing for unionized and non-unionized employees in Mexico, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Partner with HR, Labor Relations, Finance, and other key stakeholders to support business decisions and provide payroll expertise.
- Ensure full compliance with Mexican labor laws (LFT), social security regulations (IMSS), and tax requirements.
- Respond to inquiries and requirements from government authorities and other institutions.
- Provide support and timely responses to internal and external auditors, including documentation, reconciliations, and process explanations.
- Ensure strong internal controls within the payroll function, including proper segregation of duties, documentation, and reviews.
- Oversee and validate payroll accounting entries, ensuring correct posting to the general ledger and alignment with Finance and Controllership.
- Manage and resolve complex payroll issues, discrepancies, and escalations, ensuring root cause analysis and sustainable solutions.
- Drive process standardization and optimization, identifying opportunities for automation and efficiency.
- Seek to continuously improve and update payroll procedures, process documentation, and internal policies focused on cost, quality and timeliness
- Ensure correct configuration and operation of payroll and timekeeping systems (SAP, UKG).
- Manage sensitive data with a high level of confidentiality, integrity, and professionalism.
- Communicate clearly and effectively with different levels of the organization, including leadership and external partners.
- Prepare budget and monitor the expenses on ongoing basis
- Collaborate with the vendor to find proactive solutions /enhancements to payroll.

-English Level: Advanced.
