Hendrick Motorsports is currently seeking an experienced Cylinder Head Technician.
Summary:
- Underthe general direction of theCylinder Head ShopManager, theCylinder Head Technicianis responsible forteardown andcleanupof cylinder heads and componentspost-race.
Essential Duties and Responsibilitiesinclude the following:
- Cylinder Head and Intake Manifold Development
- Work with engineering on new port designs
- Flow test port designs
- Blend valve seats
- Prep new intake manifolds
- Work closely with CNC Dept. on cylinder head machining
- TIG weld
- Any other duties assigned by manager

Education/Experience:
- Must have 5+ years ofexperience withbuilding race engines.Requires working knowledge of basic mechanical skills and competencies.
- Mustpossessa sound understanding of internal combustion engines.
- Mustpossessstrong communicationskills and an excellent sense of customer satisfaction,communicatingwith other departments, andperform workastimelyand precisely as possible.
- The position requires regular and predictable attendance.
- Scheduled shifts may include evening hours, weekends, and holidays.
- Requires vision (near, distance, depth) and ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) –safety glasses.
- Constantly manuallymanipulates.
- Frequently stands, walks, sits, reaches outward, lifts/carries up to 50 pounds, and pushes/pull up to 40 pounds.
- Occasionallyreaches above shoulder, climbs, crawls, squats or kneels, bends, lifts/carries over 100 pounds, and pushes/pulls up to 100 pounds.
