Hendrick Motorsports is seeking an experienced RACE Engine Block - Cleaning / Wash Technician.
Summary:
- Thisposition consists of cleaning and inspecting engine blocks. This cleaning processutilizeshand tools, power drills, and high-pressure cleaning equipment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilitiesinclude the following:
- Responsible for shop and break room clean-up, including but not limited to sweeping, mopping, and scrubbing.
- Responsible for cleaning engine blocks that have been routed to the cleaning department after the engine has been disassembled.
- Responsible for removing grease build-up, corrosion products, etc., as well as preparing blocks for the next overhaul step using various cleaning compounds and chemical solutions, spray guns, brushes, etc.
- Responsible for operating Storm Vulcan and Stingray block washing machines.
- Completes forms associated with work assignments according to established procedures.
- Responsible for the completion of assigned shop tasks and projects, including providing support to other technicians to complete necessary work ina timelymanner.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and neat work environment through proper housekeeping and organization.

- Intermediate mechanical and technical aptitude desired.
- Technical training in automotive manufacturinga plus
Communication Skills:

- The position requires regular and predictable attendance.
- Scheduled shifts may include evening hours, weekends, and holidays.
- Must be able toworka flex schedule as needed.
- Requires vision (near, distance, depth), sense of touch, and ability to wearPersonal Protective Equipment (PPE) – safety glasses, hearing protection.
- Constantly manually manipulates,squatsor kneels, bends, lifts/carries up to 20 pounds, and pushes/pulls 12 pounds or less.
- Frequently stands, walks, sits, reaches outward,reaches above shoulder, lifts/carries up to 50 pounds, and pushes/pulls up to 25 pounds.
- Occasionally climbs, crawls, lifts/carries up to and over 100 pounds, and pushes/pulls up to 100 pounds.
