What you'll do
You'll be responsible for operating a yard tractor to move trailers from dock-to-dock as needed, moving component trailers to production lines, and moving empty trailers to dock C & A,B for loading.
- Complete pre-inspection (and post-inspection where required) of equipment such as fork truck and yard tractor to ensure safe operating condition
- Proper operation of forklift and yard tractor; safely using horns, backup alarms and safety strobe lights
- Use yard tractor to move trailers from dock-to-dock as needed
- Move component trailers to production lines
- Move empty trailers to dock C & A,B for loading (communicate status)
- Load/unload shuttle trailers
- Stage loaded trailers for transfer as required
- Stage empty supplier trailers appropriately for pick-up
What you need
To succeed in this role, you'll need a Class A CDL with Tanker and Hazmat endorsements, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Must have Class A CDL with Tanker and Hazmat endorsements
- Communicate with warehouses, truck drivers, team leaders, and supervisors to ensure correct trailers are taken to the correct locations
- Performing material handler duties in time between trailer movements
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
