What this role is and why it existsThe Research and Development (R&D) Intern will help the Technology team characterize various lubricating greases and assist in R&D activities.## What you'll do- Characterization of greases for commercial activities support.- Characterization of greases to support R&D activities.- R&D related materials synthesis.- Evaluating/Screening commercial raw materials and additives for various projects.- Processing/recording data from commercial and R&D activities as required.- Assisting in addressing customer-related issues/field problems.- Maintenance of testing equipment and materials.- Getting familiar with our VLIMS system to collect and record data.- Performing data analysis and communication with formulators and scientists.- Other duties and responsibilities as determined by Valvoline from time to time in its sole discretion.## What you need- Currently enrolled in a Chemistry, Biology, or Engineering college program.- Good team work mentality.- Good communication skills.- Good computer knowledge in Microsoft Office applications.- The ability to occasionally lift and carry up to 25lbs.## Why this mattersThis role will help you gain hands-on experience in a scientific lab and develop your skills in characterization, synthesis, and data analysis.
