What you'll do
You'll support Valvoline’s Corporate Environmental Compliance and Sustainability Team through data collection, analysis, and reporting.
- Analyze energy use, waste, emissions, and water data to identify opportunities for efficiency and reduction.
- Assist with Life Cycle Assessments (LCA) for products and packaging to improve environmental performance.
- Contribute to sustainability dashboards and performance reports used to track corporate progress.
- Support key projects in energy efficiency, waste reduction, and renewable energy initiatives.
- Help maintain compliance by updating environmental permits, response plans, reports, and audit documentation.
- Engage employees in sustainability campaigns and volunteer programs that promote Valvoline’s culture of environmental responsibility.
What you need
- A detail-oriented mindset with a passion for problem-solving and critical thinking
- In your sophomore year or higher pursuing, a degree in Engineering, Sustainability, Environmental Science, Data Science, or Business.
- Familiarity with greenhouse gas accounting
- Proficiency with MS Office tools with familiarity with other related software packages a plus.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to develop training and communications
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
Why this matters
This internship will be on-site in Lexington, KY. Candidates must be currently enrolled in a college or university program and be available to begin work immediately or within a short timeframe. Continued availability beyond the summer is required, with the ability to work part-time during the academic year. Scheduling can be flexible to accommodate class commitments.
