About the Role:
We have a new opportunity for a Production Engineer to join our Metallic Machining Group within the Machine Shop.
Reporting to the Machine Shop Production Manager, you will lead and manage machining projects within our Production Engineering team, delivering industry-leading, precision components to meet challenging schedules for our F1 race car, wind tunnel, and customer programmes. With a passion for engineering excellence, you will enhance the capability of our metallic manufacturing areas by delivering and implementing a range of engineering-driven improvement projects.
Key Accountabilities:
Act as technical lead on complex, high-value manufacturing projects.
Design work-holding solutions and staged models using Siemens NX CAD.
Collaborate with Design and Inspection teams to optimise Design for Manufacture and GD&T.
Create CNC programs for 3, 4, and 5-axis machines using Siemens NX CAM and Vericut.
Define and refine machining processes to improve efficiency, reduce cycle times & enhance quality.
Evaluate emerging machining technologies, tooling and automation to maintain high-performance.
Document best-practice CAM processes and ensure continuous improvement across all machining operations.
Support root cause analysis and corrective actions for machining related issues.
Candidate Profile:
A recognised apprenticeship and relevant engineering qualifications.
Proven experience in precision machining and CNC programming.
A strong background in 5-axis CNC machining, along with extensive experience in CAD/CAM use.
Knowledge of Siemens NX or other high-end CAM Platforms.
An understanding of CNC programming, tooling strategies, and machining processes for complex components.
Proven experience in continuous improvement, including identifying and implementing capability upgrades.
Experienced in managing high-value, complex manufacturing projects from concept to delivery.
Excellent communication skills to collaborate across Design, Inspection, and Production teams.
Resilient, adaptable, and able to thrive under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Highly organised with a logical, process-driven approach to problem-solving.
