Hendrick Motorsports, a leading NASCAR Motorsports operation, is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Social Media Content Creator. This position is responsible for delivering effective, aesthetically pleasing, engaging, on-brand, and on-strategy creative content for social media, internal and external video production, still photography, website, email promotional, and other creative needs across the company.
This position requires high level professional photography and videography capture and post-production skills, as well as creative vision, strong comprehension of storytelling, the ability to adhere to brand guidelines, impeccable interpersonal communication skills to collaborate with team members and stakeholders, and a strong understanding of the existing and evolving digital media landscape.
Responsibilities:
- Shoot, produce, edit, and develop engaging photo and video content for the team’s social media platforms, including Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and LinkedIn, as well as other internal and external needs.
- Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to further develop brand awareness and secure high quality visual imagery.
- Partner with content manager and social media representatives for race weekend content, production, and distribution.
- Monitor trends across platforms and brainstorm content, especially for partner activations, tentpole events, and major moments.
- Self-edit work for adherence to brand guidelines, style, and digital content practices.
- Assist in development of social media channels and larger-scale video and still photography production as needed.
Qualifications:
- A four-year degree in communications, journalism, public relations or related field
- Minimum two years of experience in a social media, communications, professional writing or related position
- Experience working in professional sports, high level collegiate or entertainment environment is preferred.
- Experience with digital and social media strategies and tactics
- Experience with platform management and ROI/analytics tools; building detailed reports
- Knowledge of Associated Press style and editing
- Excellent grammar and creative writing skills
- Self-starter, strong planning, project management, attention to detail and organizational skills
- Team player with a desire to work a collaborative and supportive environment
- Track record of fostering positive relationships among peers, managers and organizational partners
- Proficient in Microsoft Office software applications, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Ability to travel and work a fluctuating, flexible schedule; weekend work throughout the NASCAR season is required with this position
- Experience in graphic arts, photography and/or video editing preferred
- Interpersonal skills, the ability to get along well with a variety of personalities and individuals
- Sony background preferred.
Computer Skills:
- Requires experience with Adobe Creative Suite, very high-level Adobe Premier and Photoshop skills.
- Graphic template manipulations, and photo editing.
- Must be proficient with Microsoft Office products, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and Teams
Communication Skills:
- Ability to understand and follow instructions.
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers and company personnel.
- Should have great interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to pitch and explain ideas.
Attendance Expectations:
- Must be able to travel regularly and work a fluctuating, flexible schedule.
- Weekend work through the NASCAR season is required.
Environment Demands:
- Position works both indoors and outdoors.
- When at the racetrack, there will be exposure to fumes, loud noises, and weather elements.
