The main purpose of this role is to support the Race Team operations trackside and assist in required race related tasks with a key focus on tyres.
Key Accountabilities
- Garage Set Up - prepare and set up the garage area for race weekends ahead of car build.
- Logistics - leading with the other Garage Technicians the loading and unloading of both air freight at flyaway events and trucks in Europe.
- Equipment maintenance - conduct regular maintenance checks on all garage equipment, to ensure they are in perfect working order. Maintain and develop the equipment used to build rims and run tyres.
- Support Team operations - run tyres for one driver on a race weekend whilst supporting the other Garage Technicians in day-to-day jobs.
- Technical Support - Provide technical support to the team, troubleshooting and resolving any issues with garage equipment promptly.
- Health and Safety Compliance - Adhere to and enforce all health and safety regulations within the garage, ensuring a safe working environment for all team members.
Skills
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and within tight deadlines.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Willingness to travel extensively, working unsociable hours including weekends and holidays.
- A level of mechanical competency to be able to carry out maintenance and assembly of rims.
- Be able to use IT software to build tyres and rims electronically in our lifing system.
Personal Attributes
- Self-motivated and capable of working with minimal supervision and delivering high quality support and solutions to crucial deadlines.
- Collaborative team player.
- A can-do positive approach and a willingness to help others is essential.
- HGV license is preferable but not necessary.
