Inspector (Days)
As part of Alpine’s long-term plan to compete for F1 World Championships, we are looking to add to our excellent team with individuals who are motivated to significantly contribute to our relentless pursuit of excellence.
We are looking to recruit a Quality Control Inspector to join our team on Day shift. This role will be based in Enstone.
The Role
As an Inspector, you'll be responsible for ensuring that components meet our rigorous racing requirements to improve the performance of the car on track. This will involve measuring and checking parts for conformance to specification, as well as performing metrology and analysis tasks. Working closely with the Quality Control Manager and Team Leader, you will follow technical drawing specifications to guarantee compliance. You will have exposure to all areas of the car through measuring a diverse range of components. The Inspector role is pivotal in maintaining the efficient processing and release of workload, contributing to the success of our championship endeavours.
Key Responsibilities
- Measure and inspect components to ensure conformance to engineering specifications, reporting non conformance as necessary.
- Interpret technical drawings and apply GD&T principles accurately
- Program and operate CMMs using PC-DMIS software
- Use portable inspection arms with PolyWorks for dimensional analysis
- Record and report inspection results clearly and accurately
- Collaborate with the Quality Control Manager and Team Leader to prioritise workload
- Support continuous improvement initiatives within the inspection process
- Maintain high standards of quality and precision across all inspected parts
Knowledge, Skills, And Experience
- Recognised Apprenticeship or equivalent experience in mechanical inspection
- Strong engineering background with the ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Proficient in applying GD&T principles to assess conformance accurately
- Solid numerical skills and attention to detail for recording non-conformities clearly
- Experienced in programming and operating CMMs using PC-DMIS, both on-machine and offline
- Skilled in using 6 & 7-axis inspection arms with PolyWorks, as well as bench tools and traditional inspection equipment
- Competent in using laser part marking and printing equipment
- Robust understanding of inspection processes and file management for both hard and soft copy documentation
- PC literate with strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word)
- Familiar with Microsoft Dynamics 365 ERP system
- Able to follow written and verbal instructions effectively
