What to Expect
The Business Intelligence Developer is responsible for developing, maintaining, and enhancing BI reports, dashboards, and data visualisations that support core automotive business operations. This role plays a critical part in enabling data-driven decision-making across both operational and strategic initiatives. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements, translate them into actionable insights, and deliver high-impact visual analytics solutions. Responsibilities include designing intuitive dashboards, automating reporting processes, and ensuring data accuracy and consistency to support performance monitoring, forecasting, and strategic planning.
What You'll Do
Design and develop BI reports and dashboards using standard tools– Implement data models and data marts for reporting requirements– Create data visualisations that effectively communicate business insights– Maintain and optimize existing BI solutions– Collaborate with business users to gather and document requirements– Perform testing and quality assurance for BI deliverables– Support user training and adoption of BI solutions– Participate in BI platform upgrades and maintenance activities
What You'll Bring
Business Knowledge:– Comprehensive understanding of general business operations for at least 1 major business operation e.g. Product Design, Engineering, Manufacturing, Marketing, Sales, Finance and Supply Chain.Essential Functional / Technical Skills:– Business Intelligence (BINT): Level 3 - BI solution development– Database Design (DBDS): Level 3 - Data mart design– Programming/Software Development (PROG): Level 3 - BI development– User Experience Design (HCEV): Level 2 - Dashboard design– Testing (TEST): Level 2 - BI testing procedures– Computer Science degree or equivalent– Mathematics qualification from O Level / GCSE and abovePersonal Attributes / Competencies:– Proficiency in BI tools e.g. Power BI– Strong SQL and dimensional modelling skills– Understanding of automotive business requirements– Visual design skills for effective data presentation– Problem-solving abilities for technical challenges– Written and oral communication skills for user requirements gathering, presentation and bringing own ideas to solutions– Ability to present a positive mindset in difficult situations
