Internal Fleet Management: Oversee McLaren’s internal fleet of vehicles – including cars assigned to executives, pool cars, press/test drive vehicles, and any motorshow or marketing cars. Keep an inventory and schedule of these vehicles, ensuring they are rotated appropriately and not held beyond optimal periods. Coordinate usage so that important marketing or testing needs are met without unnecessary duplication. - Fleet Disposal Strategy: Develop a strategy for retiring internal fleet cars that maximizes their value and brand benefit. For example, after a press car has served its purpose, decide whether to channel it into a dealer’s Certified Pre-Owned inventory, offer it through internal auction to dealers, or sell it via special programs to VIP clients. Time these disposals to avoid flooding the market all at once. Aim to have these cars sold with McLaren’s oversight (preferably as CPO) to ensure they carry warranty and proper prep, thus protecting brand reputation among second owners. - Used Inventory Allocation: If certain regions or dealers have excess used inventory and others have demand, facilitate reallocation of ex press and marketing cars within the network. - Fleet Sales Opportunities: Identify and evaluate any small fleet sales opportunities that align with the brand. While McLaren is not a fleet-oriented manufacturer, there may be opportunities such as selling a batch of cars to a luxury driving experience company, a supercar rental club, or corporate gifts. Scrutinize these for brand fit and impact on residuals. If pursued, structure deals carefully (maybe requiring they be maintained to CPO standards and resold through our network later) to mitigate any negative effects. - Reporting & Residual Impact: Monitor how internal fleet disposal and used car volumes are affecting residual values. Work with the Residual Value Manager to gauge if, for example, releasing too many ex press and marketing cars in one quarter is softening prices. Adjust plans accordingly (e.g., hold some units longer or stagger sales). Provide data on used car sales, time-to-sale, and profitability to the FS & CPO head to inform the overall strategy. - Product Visibility Program: Operate the company PVP program including policy management, monthly steering group, documentation management and meanwhile being the go to person for the leadership team to resolve PVP questions and customer support. Evolve the compliance of the program in line with legislative changes and co-ordinate a consensus decision making framework across stakeholders (finance, commercial, legal, HR and tax) - Forecasting: Own the ex press and marketing sales plan and pricing forecast by ensuring finance hold an update to date record of the forecast which should be aligned with the regional team. Each month ensure the planned disposal volumes are achieved at the target pricing.
