The Role:
This role sits within the central Business Intelligence team and is responsible for leveraging fan and marketing data to deliver tangible insights and recommendations across the organisation. The ideal candidate must combine strong data analysis, visualisation and storytelling skills to bring data to life. You will craft clear, commercially focused narratives that resonate with marketing, commercial and digital teams, driving business growth and informing overall strategy.
Data Analysis & Insight Delivery: You will lead the analysis of fan and marketing data to identify key trends, critical fan behaviours and emerging market opportunities. The core duty is to translate this complex data into clear, actionable and commercially focused recommendations that directly support business growth and inform both marketing and commercial strategies.
Reporting & Visualisation: A key part of the role is creating compelling and easily digestible reports, dashboards and presentations. You will utilise data visualisation tools to effectively communicate these insights to both technical specialists and non-technical, senior audiences.
Collaboration & Research: You must partner closely with the marketing, commercial and digital teams to thoroughly understand their business objectives and provide data-driven support for all their initiatives. Furthermore, you will support the Business Intelligence Director in executing wider strategic research, including essential fan engagement studies, audience insights and market intelligence projects.
Marketing Effectiveness: The manager will be responsible for measuring the performance and ROI of marketing campaigns and digital initiatives. This includes providing detailed insights necessary for campaign optimisation and future strategic planning.
What we're looking for in you:
Analytical Foundations & Research Expertise: Candidates must possess a strong ability to analyse data, identify trends and perform calculations. You should have proven experience in a data analysis, insights, or business intelligence role, preferably within a sport, media, or entertainment company. Experience is required in designing and conducting various forms of market and consumer research, including both qualitative (e.g., focus groups, interviews) and quantitative (e.g., surveys, A/B testing) methodologies.
Technical Skills & Performance Measurement: Proficiency with tools and techniques for data analysis and visualisation, such as Excel, Tableau, or similar platforms, is required. A solid understanding of marketing and commercial metrics is essential, covering campaign performance, audience segmentation and key business indicators like Customer Lifetime Value (CLV).
Communication, Storytelling & Acumen: You must demonstrate the excellent ability to craft compelling narratives from data and present them effectively to senior stakeholders. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are necessary to build and maintain relationships with cross-functional teams. A strong commercial acumen is vital—understanding how consumer insights directly drive commercial relevance and business success.
Industry Passion: The ideal candidate will have a creative and curious mindset, coupled with a genuine passion for understanding fan behaviour and the sports industry.
