Work Arrangement
This position allows some work flexibility and is part of the Work Appropriately Model! Position requires an employee to be on-site full-time a minimum of three (3) days each week (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday).
The Role:
The Product Validation Owner (PVO) role exercises a wide range of engineering expertise (mechanical, electrical, materials, Voice of the Customer, FMEA, analysis, measurement, statistics, and program management) to develop, carry out, manage, assess, and document evaluation results to requirements for vehicle programs across the globe. The Validation Owners in this role will contribute to the safety of our customers through testing the various aspects within the vehicle interior. It is an exciting way to learn more about the details that all customers interact with every time they use their vehicles!
What You'll Do (Responsibilities):
- Commodities: Seats, Seat Belts, Steering Wheels, Instrument Panels, Consoles, and Airbags

Build and manage programs specific ADV (Analysis, Development and Validation) Plans, conduct DRBTRs and approve test reports (external or internal) on time

Review and approve physical and analytical set-ups, support progression, and verify successful completion

Complete regulatory compliance documentation activities (MVSS / Type Approval)

Develop Hardware usage estimates / budget

Review ECRs and CR/DNs to develop validation plans/impacts to ensure changes meet requirements

Key partner attendee in the Peer Review and DFMEA processes

Lead Validation issue resolution and communicate status to program, engineering release and validation leadership teams in the respective meeting forums

Support thorough documentation of requirements and results through a variety of GM systems.

Must be available for travel to SE Michigan suppliers / test house locations as needed
Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications):

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
-
2+ years’ related and/or validation experience (excluding internships and co-ops)
-
Proven ability using Microsoft Products (i.e. Excel, Word, Project, etc.)

Valid US Driver’s License
What Can Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications):

Master’s Degree in Engineering

5+ years of professional experience in Interior and/or validation (excluding internships and co-ops)

High level of written and oral communication skills to work effectively with others – Must be able to build relationships and collaborate across diverse teams

Knowledge of the Global Vehicle Development Process

Self-motivated with a high level of integrity to work effectively both independently and as part of integration to the team

Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage numerous projects across multiple programs

Experience using Atlassian Jira software, Power BI software and basic knowledge in AI
-
Experience in Seats, Seat Belts, Steering Wheels, Instrument Panels, Consoles, and/or Airbags is a plus!
