Responsible for removingmechanical systemsandcomponents of the car, such as brakes, suspension, driveline, steering, coolingsystemand exhaust system. Responsible for making technical decisions based on knowledge, experience, and direction fromother departments, including Engineering. Responsible for car andcomponentdisassembly, cleaning,servicingand documentation in both written and electronic form.
Essential Duties and Responsibilitiesinclude the following:
Certificates and Licenses:
- Magnafluxing certification preferred
- Romerproficiencypreferred
- Basic Computer skills toutilizetimekeepingsystem.
- Ability toworka flexible work schedule.
- Ability to travel if needed.
- Ability to teach others and lead by example.
- Thorough understanding of mechanical components and car systems.
- Owning andutilizingpersonal tools and equipment.
- Knowledge of measuring tools and calipers.
- Ability to follow specific and detailed procedures.
- Strong ability to problemsolve.
- Basic fabrication skills.
- Prefer basic machining skills.
Communication Skills:
- Ability to understand and follow instructions.
- Ability to communicateeffectively with customers andcompany personnel.
- The position requires regular and predictable attendance.
- Scheduled shifts may include evening hours, weekends, and holidays.
- Required tofrequentlyreach outward, reach above shoulder level, climb, crawl, squat, kneel, bend,lift/carry up to 100 pounds and push/pull up to 40 pounds.
- Required to constantlystand, walk, manuallymanipulate, lift/carry up to 50poundsand push/pull up to25 pounds.
- Required to occasionally sit, and push/pull over 100 pounds.
- Primarily works indoors in the shop environment.
- May be exposed to fumes and loud noises.
Verbal and Writing Ability:
- Ability to read andcomprehendinstructions, correspondence, and memos.
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers and other employees.
- Ability to add, subtract,multiplyand divide.
- Ability to apply commonsenseunderstanding to carry out instructions.
