The Role -
The Business Planner plays a critical role in driving strategic planning, operational execution, and cross-functional alignment for the Software & Services department within the JV. This role supports the VP in translating business strategy into actionable plans, managing key initiatives, and enabling data-driven decision-making across software product lines and service offerings.
What You’ll Do -
- Strategic Planning & Execution
- Lead the development and tracking of annual and multi-year business plans for software and connected services.
- Align planning activities with corporate and JV strategic priorities, ensuring measurable outcomes and timely execution.
- Support the VP in preparing strategic reviews, investment proposals, and executive communications.
- Program & Initiative Management
- Manage cross-functional programs that span product, engineering, finance, and operations, ensuring delivery on scope, timeline, and budget.
- Identify risks, interdependencies, and mitigation strategies across software initiatives.
- Drive continuous improvement in planning and execution processes.
- Business Performance & Analytics
- Develop and maintain dashboards and reporting tools to monitor KPIs, financial performance, and operational health of software programs.
- Conduct scenario planning and business modeling to support decision-making.
- Analyze market trends, customer insights, and competitive intelligence to inform planning.
- Stakeholder Engagement & Communication
- Facilitate alignment across internal and external stakeholders, including JV partners, corporate teams, and functional leaders.
- Prepare and present business updates, strategy decks, and investment cases to senior leadership.
- Act as a trusted advisor to the VP, providing insights and recommendations on business priorities.
Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, or related field; MBA preferred.
- 7–10 years of experience in business planning, program management, or strategy roles, ideally in software, automotive, or technology sectors.
- Proven ability to manage complex, cross-functional programs with strategic impact.
- Strong analytical skills and experience with financial modeling, KPI tracking, and data visualization.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, including experience presenting to senior executives.
