Purpose of the Role
Support the full lifecycle of electronic systems for our Formula 1 programme, from build and calibration to maintenance and fault resolution. You'll deliver high-performance on-car instrumentation and drive improvements in data quality, reliability, and system efficiency.
Principal Accountabilities
Prepare and maintain precision sensors and instrumentation
Ensure reliability, serviceability, and data integrity
Collaborate across teams and with suppliers
Drive process and cost improvements
Maintain compliance with FIA and safety standards
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
Motorsport, automotive, or aerospace electronics background
Skilled in harness assembly, soldering, and test equipment
Experience with instrumentation, schematics, and surface-mount components
Familiar with CAN, Ethernet, and high-speed comms
Knowledge of F1 environments and safe handling practices
CAD experience and mentoring background a plus

McLaren Racing is based at the iconic McLaren Technology Centre (MTC) near Woking. Our state of the art, sustainable campus offers many facilities including a gym, restaurant and indoor and outdoor break-out areas, as well as direct access to park and common land. The MTC is connected to Woking mainline station via regular shuttle buses, from which London Waterloo is a 30 minute train ride.
