The Role: Global Real Estate is a dynamic function at GM responsible for a diverse portfolio exceeding 300M square feet across manufacturing, logistics, office, and retail asset classes. The Real Estate Group Manager will play a critical leadership role, overseeing a team of project managers who execute complex real estate transactions and develop portfolio strategies that support GM business units and advance company objectives. This role demands exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, with frequent interaction across senior leadership and cross-functional teams. Reporting to the Assistant Director, Global Real Estate, the ideal candidate is a seasoned real estate professional with demonstrated leadership experience in a corporate environment, capable of moving seamlessly between tactical execution and strategic influence.
What You'll Do:
- Lead and mentor a team of project managers executing complex real estate transactions – including acquisitions, leases, and dispositions – across GM’s global portfolio.
- Directly manage high-profile projects, providing hands-on leadership and oversight to ensure alignment with strategic goals.
- Oversee portfolio operations such as lease administration, rent collection, and property management, ensuring operational excellence and compliance.
- Build strong cross-functional partnerships with internal stakeholders to enhance collaboration, drive consistency in service delivery, and identify opportunities for portfolio optimization and continuous improvement.
- Promote employee growth by fostering a culture of continuous learning, supporting career development, and encouraging professional advancement.
- Manage external brokers and service providers, including through site searches and transaction negotiations, to ensure terms reflect GM’s best interests.
- Operate with integrity and accountability, ensuring full compliance with corporate policies, procedures, and ethical standards.
- Champion the Infrastructure & Corporate Citizenship brand, increasing awareness and engagement among business partners, service providers, and contractors.
Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications):
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Real Estate, or related field required;
- Minimum 8–10 years of corporate real estate experience, with expertise in transaction execution and portfolio strategy.
- Strong negotiation, financial analysis, and business planning skills, with the ability to evaluate complex deals and align them with enterprise goals.
- Exceptional communication and collaboration skills, with experience engaging senior leadership and cross-functional teams.
- Results driven; proven track record of developing and implementing strategies that generate tangible impact.
- Experience managing external brokers, consultants, and service providers.
- Real estate salesperson or broker license preferred.

Compensation:
- The salary range for this role is $127,900-$200,100. The actual base salary a successful candidate will be offered within this range will vary based on factors relevant to the position.
