The GPSC Strategic Projects Manager will lead a team of highly skilled individuals in defining and executing strategic projects across GPSC. They will engage with internal and external stakeholders to understand industry and technological trends and identify potential opportunities for further collaboration. They will identify emerging industry risks and opportunities over the horizon and make strategy recommendations for GM and GPSC. They will be responsible for driving significant value creation from Strategic Partnerships by identifying commodities to increase resilience and profitability for both parties. They will also be responsible for the successful execution of Supply Chain Resiliency initiatives.
Primary roles and responsibilities:

Lead GPSC core team engagement with Strategic Partners, identifying opportunities to build supply chain resilience and drive joint cost savings across commodity teams through Joint Purchasing Agreements

Lead engagement opportunities with other OEMs and 3rd parties to collaborate on potential resilience initiatives or benchmarking/knowledge sharing

Conduct risk and opportunity assessment over the horizon to determine potential implications for GPSC and GM; prioritizing the areas that require action and make recommendations

Consult and collaborate with cross-functional teams to frame business needs and translate those into strategic direction

Consult and collaborate with GM and GPSC senior leaders globally to understand business needs and translate into strategic initiatives

Drive successful execution of strategic and resiliency projects across GPSC

Recruit and develop a high performing team with diverse and complimentary skill sets to develop and execute Strategic Projects for GPSC

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree required (supply chain, finance, business, engineering or related field)

5+ years relevant post-graduate work experience in purchasing, supply chain, program/product management, manufacturing, logistics or product development

Demonstrated ability to lead a team and work across multiple functions

Strong project management skills

High business acumen and strong understanding of core purchasing and supply chain processes
Preferred Qualifications:

MBA or advanced degree in management, finance, supply chain or related field

Advanced knowledge and broad experience in strategy development, with the ability to identify and leverage experts in different specialized fields

Background in Strategy Consulting
This position requires the ability to legally operate a motor vehicle on a regular basis and successfully complete a Motor Vehicle Report review.
