WHAT YOU’LL DO
The Consumer Products Intern will assist the IMS/INDYCAR Consumer Product/Licensing Department with projects related to consumer goods and services, and licensed products. The intern will learn the process of licensing and curation of consumer goods, including staff apparel.
In this role, you’ll be an important part of delivering top-tier experiences to fans, partners, and teams across the motorsports world. You’ll take ownership of key responsibilities, collaborate across departments, and bring energy and innovation to a fast-paced environment.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage IMS and INDYCAR Staff apparel inventory, working with vendors, new hire fulfillment.
- Assist with Direct Licensing Hub platform management and learn more about its efficiency capabilities.
- Manage internal event program orders and distribution.
- Catalog commemorative bricks on IMS property.
- Assist in organizing Indy 500 and Brickyard 400 vendor agreements
- Executing a new licensee checklist process.
- Creating partner product PDFs for partnership team.
- Retail program ad coordination for INDYCAR events.
- Other duties as assigned.

Education:
- Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree or graduate degree from a four-year accredited college/university, preferably in Marketing, Business Administration, Merchandising/Retail Management or Sports Management.
Leadership:
- This role does not have direct supervisory responsibilities.
FLEXIBILITY & TRAVEL
- The internship begins in early Feb. and will conclude in July. This position is flexible w/ class schedules until the end of the Spring semester.
- Standard hours are Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM
- Extended hours required during race weekends and key event periods (especially May)
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Extended periods of standing or walking (as needed)
- Comfort working indoors/outdoors and around event noise
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Fast-paced, collaborative office and event settings
- The noise level in the work environment can be loud, due to professional racing events.
- Employee is faced with frequent interruptions and must work in close proximity to others.
