BMW Plant Swindon is an integral part of The BMW Group’s production triangle. The majority of body components for the MINI – including all the skin panels and closure assemblies – originate at BMW Group Plant Swindon. We’re proud of our achievements, some of which include:
- We have approximately 200 panel parts produced from our 8 automated press line facilities. 80% supply to Plant Oxford, 20% to BMW network. 30 additional parts are also produced in the sub-assembly technology to supply Oxford.
- Our zero waste to landfill philosophy; none of the materials we use are sent to landfill.

BMW Plant Swindon - Human Resources – 13 Month Placement (July 2026)
We are the Leadership Partner team who provide HR business partner consultancy and "one face" to our customers in Swindon (circa 500 employees) on behalf of the whole HR community. High performance, flexibility and sustainability are key to ensuring a high performing and motivated organisation. Our advice and support alongside our network into the international HR community and central functions helps secure the future viability of our plant. We advise, empower and support our Leaders in strategic and specialised areas, we facilitate change processes and are responsible for the ensuring application of HR policy and process in line with UK Employment Law, EU Directives and best practice.
What awaits you?
- Active member of Plant Swindon, acting as a business partner to Leaders, and being the first point of contact for employee and manager queries.
- Responsible for absence reporting and steering across Painted Body and providing admin support to the team.
- Responsible for supporting annual appraisal assessment processes, succession planning and management validation processes.
- Responsible for steering Qualification and Competency process across Painted Body.
- Supporting recruitment processes and interviews, discipline and grievance processes.
- Updating weekly and monthly KPIs.
- Co-ordination of grading activities and drafting job descriptions
- Ability and willingness to take on additional projects to support HR enabler projects (i.e Diversity, Equity & Inclusion, Corporate Social Responsibility) and projects within the local team that would support process, data and IT efficiencies.
- Organising events i.e. pre-retirement courses.
What should you bring along?
- Studying towards a Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, Social Sciences or other related fields, and on track to achieve a 2:2 or above.
- Driven individual with a strong work ethic.
- Excellent communication skills and highly developed interpersonal skills.
- Teamwork skills and the ability to lead and motivate others.
- Developed IT skills, particularly with experience of the MS Suite.
- A full driving licence is preferred as the candidate would ideally be flexible to travel between sites.
