Work Arrangement: This role is categorized as Hybrid . This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Warren – GM Global Technical Center , three times per week, at minimum or other frequency dictated by the business.
Relocation: This job is not eligible for relocation benefits. Any relocation costs would be the responsibility of the selected candidate.
The Role:
As a Senior Buyer, you will be responsible for purchase of all or a specific portion of productive and/or non-productive materials, supplies, machinery, tooling and/or services. Responsible for actively participating in the development of commodity strategy, sourcing/negotiations,global/regional material budget execution, and collaborate with suppliers or internal partners. The work is of a sophisticated nature involving a considerable amount of initiative, analytical work and judgment.
What You’ll Do (Responsibilities):
- You will be responsible for purchase of all or a specific portion of productive and/or non-productive materials, supplies, machinery, tooling and/or services. Responsible for actively participating in development of commodity strategy, sourcing/negotiations, global/regional material budget execution, and interface with suppliers or internal stakeholders.
- Work is of a complex nature involving a considerable amount of initiative, analytical work and a high level of independent judgment.
- Partner with Program Managers to represent purchasing and communicate program requirements/vehicle line overview.
Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)
- Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Finance, Industrial Engineering, or related field
- A minimum of 5 years relevant experience
- Experience with commodities
- Experience managing commercial issues with suppliers and assessing supplier performance
- Demonstrated competence in negotiating skills
- Professional interpersonal verbal and written communication skills
- High level of analytical ability where problems can be somewhat complex
- Developed organizational skills including the ability to prioritize, handle multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines
- Proficient with Microsoft office products - Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Ability to travel 10% of the time domestically and internationally.
