WHAT YOU’LL DO
The Communications Coordinator will play a vital role in supporting all public relations efforts for the INDYCAR Grand Prix of Arlington (GPA) — a brand-new street race in the heart of Arlington’s Entertainment District that represents one of the most exciting additions to the NTT INDYCAR SERIES calendar. This inaugural event is poised to become a marquee sports and entertainment weekend for North Texas, blending world-class racing with the energy of the Cowboys, Rangers, and one of the nation’s most dynamic markets.
In this role, you’ll help bring the event’s story to life — with a strong emphasis on media outreach, press engagement, and ensuring all written and digital content reflects GPA’s brand voice and standards. You’ll collaborate across teams and partners to amplify awareness, elevate fan and partner experiences, and drive visibility for a first-of-its-kind event that will set the stage for a lasting tradition in Arlington.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Play a leading role in brainstorming and executing media events, stunts, and press conferences — often in collaboration with GPA’s key stakeholders, including the Dallas Cowboys and REV Entertainment.
- Conduct outreach with members of the media and lead GPA working groups as requested by the Director of Marketing and Communications.
- Partner with INDYCAR colleagues to implement an integrated public relations plan that promotes the INDYCAR Grand Prix of Arlington and elevates the event as a marquee stop on the series calendar.
- Serve as a primary liaison to media in the Dallas–Fort Worth market, while also building and maintaining strong relationships with regional, national, and motorsports media.
- Work with Cowboys, Rangers, and GPA digital teams to ensure proper amplification of PR efforts across all channels.
- Oversee media operations for the INDYCAR Grand Prix of Arlington and related events, ensuring a seamless and professional experience for local, national, and international press.
- Draft press releases, media advisories, welcome letters, and fan correspondence on behalf of GPA officials; assist in writing, editing, and producing event and marketing materials.
- Gather information and respond to media inquiries regarding the Grand Prix of Arlington and its related activities.
- Track and report PR coverage and media impressions, providing regular updates to leadership.
- Contribute to the development of storytelling content that highlights the event’s impact on fans, partners, and the Arlington community.
- Other leadership and/or support responsibilities as assigned.
