Work Arrangement:
Hybrid: This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Warren, Michigan three times per week, at minimum.
The Role:
We are seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to lead the design, development, and test of windshield washer and wiper systems, along with glass technologies that enable variable light transmissivity. This role involves cross-functional collaboration with design, virtual test, and multiple engineering teams to ensure robust system performance and seamless integration into vehicle platforms.
What You’ll Do:

Lead system-level design and integration of windshield washer and wiper functionality.

Develop and validate glass technologies with variable light transmissivity.

Define and manage feature and system requirements, interfaces, and performance targets.

Partition and allocate product, feature and system functionality to implementation teams.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams including design, validation, manufacturing, and suppliers.

Support issue resolution and root cause analysis during development and testing phases.

Ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, and quality standards and be responsible for self-certification approvals.

Drive continuous improvement and innovation in system functionality and performance.

Document technical deliverables and support program milestones.
Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications):

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Systems Engineering (or related field).

5+ years of experience in automotive systems engineering or related domain.
-
Strong understanding of vehicle electrical and mechanical systems, especially related to exterior systems.
-
Experience with system requirements development, validation planning, and issue resolution.

Familiarity with glass technologies, sensors, and actuators used in wiper and washer systems.

Proficiency in tools such as DOORS, DOORS Next Gen, Vector CANoe, and other diagnostic and validation tools.

Excellent communication and collaboration skills across technical and non-technical teams.

Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.

Comprehension of automation strategies including Continuous Integration Continuous Delivery (CICD), and Continuous Testing (CT).

Work with a service-oriented architecture (SOA), utilizing Behavior Driven Development (BDD).

Experience working as part of a Scrum team and familiarity with sprint planning and daily standup meetings focused on planning, monitoring, result/solution orientation, and risk mitigation.

Understanding of MBSE toolsets (Rhapsody) for defining use case diagrams and context diagrams in automotive system development.
What Will Give You A Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications):

Master’s degree in Engineering or related technical discipline.

8+ years of experience in automotive systems engineering or related domain.

Strong understanding of vehicle electrical and mechanical systems, especially related to exterior systems.

Experience with automotive exterior systems development in a global OEM or Tier 1 supplier.

Knowledge of ISO 26262 and functional safety principles.

Familiarity with model-based systems engineering (MBSE) practices.

Experience with Agile development methodologies and tools.

Prior involvement with wiper-washer systems, advanced glass technologies such as electrochromic or photochromic systems or other complex systems.

Demonstrated leadership in cross-functional technical teams.
