Senior Machinist – Nightshift

In this role you will be based at our facility in Enstone, Oxfordshire.
Senior Machinist
The Role
In this exciting and challenging role, you will be a valued member of a small team tasked with producing good value, high quality parts in a timely manner using United Machining (GF Machining Solutions) state of the art 5 axis machining centres using Heidenhain control systems.
Key Responsibilities Include
- Train and mentor other team members, creating and providing training material that supports team development and competency
- Use our systems to accurately record associated activity and materials along with feedback to ensure we continually evolve and improve
- Escalate and record non conformances in line with our continuous improvement expectations
- When required, review technical drawings and estimate time required to manufacture parts.
- Liaise with Machine Shop Manager and Nightshift Production Manager as required to ensure effective throughput of work across the team.
- Resolution of any local queries during the shift
- Suggest solutions for scheduling and quality problems
- Ensure workshops and equipment are kept clean and tidy as well as serviced and /or repaired with appropriate housekeeping regimes, while maintaining compliance with H&S policies.
The Person
You will be an experienced machinist (ideally using 5 axis Heidenhain machines), used to working on complex parts with aerospace type materials, to tight deadlines. You will have high personal standards of work quality and detail that guide and motivate you, and you combine this with the ability to thrive under pressure. You will have good communication skills and enjoy guiding and mentoring others. You will be excited by the idea of a new challenge in a team-based environment where talent is appreciated and allowed to flourish.
You will be PC literate and comfortable using MS Office products, Dynamics 365 knowledge would be at an advantage.
You will be a team player and have a positive profile, with a desire to create a friendly, high performing team. You will be flexible in your approach to achieving targets within a fast paced environment.
